Who We Are

Coggan Wool is a family based Wool Broker servicing the Central West since 1974. Our professional service and low-cost brokering is our focus, whilst obtaining the most competitive market price at auction sales in the Yennora Wool Centre in Sydney.

Selling at every Yennora wool sale enables Coggan Wool to provide a quick efficient sale in order to capture a rising market, or, with our large storage facility, we can market your wool when it suits you, whether it be waiting for a rising market or selling for your cash flow.

Doing business with the principals of Coggan Wool means personal service is one of the most important factors that separates Coggan Wool from other wool brokers.

Our History

Harry Coggan started Coggan Wool in 1973, moving from Tamworth with wife Val and 3 small children. He rented a shearing shed on the edge of Dubbo, bought a small lorry, travelled around the region buying wool hides and skins. He purchased some land off the Dubbo council in 1980 and built a shed. At that time fox skins were very valuable and people often shot them and we also bought the skins.

Mark started with his father Harry in 1987 after doing a fitting and turning course and Cameron started in 1992 after working with the State bank for a few years.

In 1996 Coggan Wool started Wool brokering with the help of John Enderbry of Wool Auctions of Australia. Our first year we handled 6000 bales through the Auctions at Yennora Sydney.

27 years later we have handled over 400 000 bales and average 18 000 bales sold at auction each year.

Harry is now 86 years old and leaves all the work to Mark & Cameron Coggan
